League of Women Voters Lincoln County will hold its next meeting on Thursday, February 20, at 11:30am, at the Newport Public Library, 35 Nye Street. The program will feature a presentation from the K-12 Education focus group, in preparation for adopting a League position on the issues. The powerpoint presentation will be divided into sections to allow for discussion.. All League meetings are open to the public. Please join us! Oregon Coast Community College and Small Business Development Center host Legislative Town Halls First event of session is Friday, Feb. 28 Get caught up on all the goings-on in Salem in this live conversation with Senator Dick Anderson (R, Lincoln City) and Representative David Gomberg (D, Otis). For these monthly sessions, as has been the case over the past decade that OCCC and its SBDC have hosted these events, our elected officials may occasionally attend in person though, generally speaking, committee assignments and work at the Capitol will force them to join via Zoom. Attend the in-person live stream, and you’ll be able to visit personally with Sen. Anderson and/or Rep. Gomberg if and when their schedules allow. Presently, live in-person streamings of the Town Hall events is planned for Lincoln City; if you’re interested in attending a live forum at the Newport Campus, let us know.
